Press Release Nayna Networks Introduces Carrier Class High Density T1/E1 ModulesExpressSTREAM Modules Converge T1/E1 Networks Over Ethernet
San Jose, Calif., USA - September 9, 2005 - Nayna Networks, Inc., (OTCBB: NAYN), a provider of next generation network solutions, today unveiled new high-density Carrier Class T1 and E1 modules for the company’s ExpressSTREAM platform -- targeted to Telecom and Internet service providers (ISPs). Today’s announcement complements the Company’s August 24 introduction of its Enterprise Class XG-4000 T1/E1 over-IP customer premise gateway -- targeted to enterprise, customer premise applications -- and reinforces Nayna’s position as a complete end-to-end broadband network solutions leader. Providing unprecedented converged network ability, the T1/E1 Modules enable carriers such as telcos, RBOCs, competitive access providers (CAPs) and ISPs to eliminate parallel Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) networks and greatly reduce operating costs. By seamlessly implementing T1 and E1 over broadband Ethernet links, the separate TDM network can be eliminated reducing monthly network operating expenses by upwards of 50 percent or more. Further, by maintaining TDM technical specifications, voice quality and reliability remain impressive and free from drop-outs compared with Internet based VoIP-only solutions. The T1 and E1 modules represent a breakthrough in space saving density and simplified installation. In what is believed to be an industry first, Nayna has fitted 32 ports in a 10.5” (6 RU) chassis card footprint. The modules enable Telecom and Internet service providers to immediately reduce costly equipment office rack-space requirements across dozens of local central offices within a single metropolitan network. Ideal deployments include central office connections, points-of-presence, PBX & Digital Loop Carrier (DLC) connections, backhaul links for microwave & cell sites, and leased line applications such as hospitals, universities, resorts and business parks. “Emulating T1 and E1 circuits over Ethernet provides lucrative cash-on-cash cost savings for telcos and ISPs,” said Jim Connor, director of marketing, Nayna Networks. “T1 and E1 over Ethernet TCP/IP is gaining strong traction globally because retaining existing TDM equipment slashes upfront capital costs while at the same time using only Ethernet transport reduces monthly operating costs. Service providers can retain their existing revenue streams while at the same time migrating to a lower cost Ethernet packet-based network.”
